Vintage 1930s Art Deco Whiting & Davis Co. Silver Mesh Collapsible Gate Beggars Evening Bag Flapper Eveningwear

Circa 1930s, Art Deco.
An ingenious design that kept handbags dainty despite having decent capacity, beggar's bags had round accordion-hinged mouths that expanded for filling. Silver metallic mesh exterior with a silk lined interior.
Inside of purse has original silk Whiting & Davis Co. fabric tag, reads “WHITING & DAVIS CO. MESH BAGS, TRADEMARK REG. MADE IN U.S.A.”.

Bag measures approximately 6 inches long by 3.5 inches wide (when closed). Chain has a drop length of approximately 4 inches.
